You can participate on these treks alone or with friends. It's wise to make a reservation at your earliest convenience rather than on the last minute, so you don't miss out.
These treks are arranged daily, both during the week and on the weekends. Most of the time we follow the schedule found lower on this page but sometimes there are exceptions (due to previously reserved private groups, for example). We will of course let you know of this when you inquire. All treks must be reserved in advance.
You can take part on these treks alone, with a friend or as a group. If participating as a group, take note that we might take other riders on vacant spots. We can take a maximum of five to seven (5-7) riders per group. Sometimes we are able to take more people at once and sometimes we have to keep groups a bit smaller, depending on the amount of available horses and staff. Daily groups are arranged when there are at least two (2) participants.
The duration of the trek includes mounting the horses and necessary riding instructions before heading out on the trail (doesn't apply to "Minisafaris"). This usually takes around 5 to 15 minutes. Riders should arrive at the stables 30 minutes before the starting time and have 15 minutes of time after the trek too, for changing clothes and gear. The staff saddles the horses.
Our horses are relatively small. We have a weight limit of 95 kilos (210 lbs / 15 st). Children under the age of 12 may join the treks if they have had weekly lessons for a year or have otherwise gained enough experience to be able to ride basic gaits independently (note the separate require-ments of each trek). "Minisafaris" and arena riding are age limitless.
Daily groups from 1st of September 2020 forward:
Experienced riders who have an active riding history of at least 4 years and aren't afraid of going fast. Age limit is 12 years. Also suitable for someone who is less active now but has a long riding history, has maintained their skill level and still rides more than a couple times a year.
You can handle a lively horse and wake up a slower one. You have a good balance and body control in all paces and don't need help with basic gaits. You have control over your horse in difficult terrain and varying situations (e.g. road crossings).
Speedy, besides walk there are many fast-paced sections of trot, tölt and canter / gallop.
Price: 70€ / person
On even-numbered days all year round.
Fairly experienced riders who have an active riding history of at least 2 years or for someone who has ridden a lot in the past but now only rides every now and then. Age limit is 10 years. Also suitable for a more experienced rider who doesn't care for much speed.
You get your horse to pick up and maintain trot and canter. You have a good balance and body control. You have control over your horse in varying situations (e.g. road crossings).
Brisk, besides walk there are many sections of trot, tölt and canter / gallop.
Price: 70€ / person
On odd-numbered days all year round.
Riders who know the basics well and aren't afraid of cantering.
You handle the basic cues well which means that you get your horse to walk, stop and turn without difficulty. You have also ridden trot or tölt multiple times. For these requirements to be met you have, for example, recently taken a beginners' course or otherwise ridden multiple times in a short period of time without a long break. A break is irrelevant if you have ridden a lot in the past and still remember the basics. Children under the age of 12 must have had weekly lessons for a year + canter experience.
Moderate, besides walk there is some trot, tölt and canter. We mainly canter uphill.
Price: 55€ / person
November, December, January, February: odd-numbered days from 2pm to 3:30pm. June, July, August: daily from 3:30pm to 5pm.
Beginners and all who enjoy a leisurely pace.
Children under the age of 12 must have had weekly lessons for a year. Older kids and adults won't need previous experience. If you fear or are very nervous around horses, it is recommended to get to know the animal from the ground first and / or try the 20-minute "Minisafari" first.
Slow, besides walk there is some tölt.
Price: 40€ / person
November, December, January, February: even-numbered days from 2pm to 3pm. June, July, August: daily from 2pm to 3pm.
